UL 2054
The UL safety standard for household and commercial battery packs, primary or rechargeable, built from cells already recognised to UL 1642 or a similar cell standard. It adds pack-level electrical, mechanical, fire and abuse tests, including checks of the protection circuit, and is the usual North American requirement for packs in tools, medical devices and consumer products.

Example
Stationary, industrial and product standards: an example situation
A cell-level test does not establish fire performance or commissioning requirements for a complete installation.
Read UL 2054 alongside IEC 62133 in this context. The safety standard for portable sealed cells and batteries, part 2 covering lithium systems. Passing it is a basic requirement for consumer products, and it is often the first safety certification a new cell obtains.
