02What is stored when you sign up
- your email address;
- your name, only if you type one;
- whether you asked to be emailed about new lessons and labs, and when you last changed that choice;
- which version of this notice you confirmed you had read;
- the course page you signed up on, and the date and time of your sign-up and of any later one.
Nothing else. In particular, your IP address, your quiz and exam answers, your scores and your progress are not stored with your sign-up.
03Why, and on what basis
- To open the interactive parts of the course to you and to know how many people use the course. The free sign-up is the condition for using those parts, so this processing is needed to provide them (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To email you about new lessons and labs — only if you ticked that box (your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by writing to us. Withdrawing does not affect your access to the course.
Your details are not sold, and are not shared with anyone for their own marketing.
04What stays in your browser
Your sign-up is also remembered in your browser's local storage, so you are not asked again on every page. Your lesson progress, practice-quiz results, exam result and the name on your statement of completion are kept only there, as before. Clearing this site's data removes them; you will then be asked to sign up again, which updates the same record rather than creating a new one.
05Where it is kept, and for how long
Sign-ups are kept in a database run for us by Cloudflare, the provider that hosts lemonergy.com, acting as our processor under its data processing terms. The database is held under Cloudflare's European Union jurisdiction: your sign-up is stored and processed in the EU. The network that delivers the website to your browser may handle your request outside the European Economic Area on its way, under the safeguards in those terms.
We keep your sign-up until you ask us to delete it, or until the course closes. If you asked for emails, we stop sending them as soon as you unsubscribe.
06Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your sign-up, to receive a copy of it, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw your consent to emails. Write to [email protected] from the address you signed up with; we reply within one month.
You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or to the authority where you live.
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the sign-up records which version you confirmed.
