Halide electrolyte
A newer solid electrolyte family of lithium metal chlorides and bromides, stable at the high voltage of layered oxide cathodes where sulfides decompose, but unstable against lithium metal. Cells often pair a halide catholyte with a sulfide separator.

Example
Electrolytes and separators: an example situation
Greater liquid uptake may improve wetting while changing mechanical behavior. Several properties define separator performance.
Read Halide electrolyte alongside LLZO in this context. The leading oxide solid electrolyte, a garnet-structured Li₇La₃Zr₂O₁₂ stable against lithium metal. It conducts about 1 mS/cm but is brittle and needs sintering above 1000 °C, which drives its production route.
Use in Lemonergy
