Electric truck

A battery-electric medium- or heavy-duty goods vehicle. A long-haul tractor carries several hundred kilowatt-hours — Mercedes-Benz’s eActros 600 has 621 kWh of LFP in three packs for about 500 km — and needs megawatt charging to refill during a driver’s rest, while the battery’s mass eats into payload.

Example

Applications and market: an example situation

20 kWh total energy and a ten-second 100 kW peak constrain different design aspects.

Read Electric truck alongside Depot charging in this context. Charging a fleet of buses or trucks at the depot, usually overnight at 50–150 kW per vehicle, which keeps cell stress low and lets an energy-management system sequence the chargers against the site’s grid connection.
