IECEE CB Scheme

The international system under which one test against an IEC standard, such as IEC 62133-2 or IEC 62619, earns a CB test report and certificate that national certification bodies in more than 50 member countries accept, adding only their national differences. It saves battery makers repeated testing; it carries no mark of its own, and the certificate does not expire.

Example

Stationary, industrial and product standards: an example situation

A cell-level test does not establish fire performance or commissioning requirements for a complete installation.

Read IECEE CB Scheme alongside Conformity assessment and CE marking in this context. The procedure by which a manufacturer shows a battery meets the EU Battery Regulation — safety, performance, durability and labelling — before affixing the CE mark. For EV and industrial batteries a notified body is involved; the Regulation replaces the Low Voltage Directive route the old rules used.
