Cell testing

Measuring a cell’s capacity, resistance, efficiency, rate capability, life and safety under defined conditions. Because every result depends on the conditions, a result without its temperature, current and voltage limits is not a result. [1]

Example

Testing methods: an example situation

Resistance immediately after a current step can differ from a ten-second value because slower polarization contributes.

Read Cell testing alongside Abuse testing in this context. Deliberately driving cells and packs beyond their limits — overcharge, crush, nail penetration, external short, heating, drop — to see how they fail. Standards define each test and rank the outcome on a hazard scale from no effect to explosion.

Use in Lemonergy
