Secondary cell

A cell whose reaction runs in both directions, so it can be recharged by driving current back into it. Lithium-ion, lead–acid and nickel–metal hydride are all secondary chemistries.

Example

Other and emerging chemistries: an example situation

Two chemistries can meet the same energy target with different voltage windows and charge termination.

Read Secondary cell alongside Cycle in this context. One discharge and one charge, in either order. A full cycle spans the whole usable capacity; a partial cycle covers only part of it, and aging tests usually report both the cycle count and the depth of discharge.

Use in Lemonergy

Do not carry lithium-ion assumptions into every chemistry.

This is a reference concept. No executable Lemonergy block has been verified for this term.
