Equivalent lithium content
A notional lithium mass, 0.3 g per ampere-hour of rated capacity, once used to classify lithium-ion batteries for transport; its 8 g battery limit corresponded to about 100 Wh. The rules now rate lithium-ion by watt-hours and lithium-metal batteries by their actual lithium mass, the lightest regime allowing 1 g per cell and 2 g per battery.

The historical factor converts rated ampere-hours into a notional lithium mass.
A 10 Ah rating corresponds to 3 g under this historical convention, regardless of nominal voltage.
Historical ELC (g) = 0.3 g/Ah × rated capacity (Ah)
Illustrative model. Not actual lithium mass and not a shipping-compliance calculation. Voltage is absent from this historical conversion.
