current_from_c_rate
Convert a nominal capacity and C-rate into a current magnitude.
- Implementation ID
current_from_c_rate- Reviewed
- 2026-10-27
Behavior
Accepts finite scalar or broadcastable array inputs. Capacity must be positive and C-rate nonnegative; zero represents rest.
Interface
| Name | Direction | Unit | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
return | output | A | Scalar float or NumPy array following broadcasting. |
Parameters
Defaults are initial model values. Select values for your own model and operating conditions.
| Parameter | Unit | Default | Meaning and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
nominal capacity ahnominal_capacity_ah | Ah | Supplied by the user | Positive nominal capacity. |
c ratec_rate | 1/h | Supplied by the user | Nonnegative rate magnitude. |
Equations and rules
I_A = Q_Ah * C_rate_h^-1
Worked example
Convert C-rate into current
A 5 Ah cell at 0.5C corresponds to 2.5 A. At 2C it corresponds to 10 A.
