IEC 62485
The installation standard for secondary batteries and battery installations: ventilation, protection against electric shock, and the layout of battery rooms. Part 2 covers stationary batteries, part 3 traction batteries for industrial trucks.
- Also called
- EN 50272
Example
Stationary, industrial and product standards: an example situation
A cell-level test does not establish fire performance or commissioning requirements for a complete installation.
Read IEC 62485 alongside Insulation resistance in this context. The resistance between the high-voltage circuit and the vehicle chassis, which must stay above about 100 Ω per volt of pack voltage so a person touching the chassis is safe. An insulation monitoring device measures it continuously.
