Behavior
Temperatures are supplied in Celsius and converted to kelvin internally; both must exceed absolute zero. Activation energy is nonnegative. This factor can scale a rate but does not predict cell lifetime by itself.
Interface
| Name | Direction | Unit | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
return | output | dimensionless | Scalar float or NumPy array following broadcasting. |
Parameters
Defaults are initial model values. Select values for your own model and operating conditions.
| Parameter | Unit | Default | Meaning and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
temperature ctemperature_c | deg C | Supplied by the user | Temperature above -273.15 deg C. |
activation energy j per molactivation_energy_j_per_mol | J/mol | Supplied by the user | Nonnegative activation energy. |

Equations and rules
A = exp((Ea / R) * (1 / T_ref - 1 / T))R = 8.31446261815324 J/(mol K); temperatures in kelvin
Worked example
Compare reaction rates
