ARXML
The XML exchange format of AUTOSAR, describing software components and the communication matrix of a whole vehicle — CAN, LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet — in one model. Carmakers increasingly hand suppliers ARXML instead of DBC files.

Example
Data, communication and electronics: an example situation
2500 in a log might mean 25.00 °C, 2.5 V or raw counts. Units and scale must accompany the value.
Read ARXML alongside Automotive Ethernet in this context. Ethernet over a single twisted pair, now the backbone of newer vehicle networks where CAN’s bandwidth runs out. Battery systems still use CAN for control but increasingly send high-rate cell data and software updates over Ethernet.
