Thermal characterisation
Measuring the thermal properties a model needs: specific heat capacity in a calorimeter, thermal conductivity through and along the layers, the entropy coefficient from OCV against temperature, and heat generation under load. Without them a thermal model is a guess.

Example
Current and resistive heating
At 5 A: 0.5 W. At 10 A: 2 W.
Resistance is constant; reversible entropic heat and other losses are excluded.

Double the current and ohmic heating increases fourfold.
At 5 A: 0.5 W. At 10 A: 2 W.
P_heat = I²R
Illustrative model. Resistance is constant; reversible entropic heat and other losses are excluded.
