Lithium hexafluorophosphate
The lithium salt in nearly every commercial electrolyte, chosen for conductivity, aluminium passivation and cost rather than stability: it decomposes above about 60 °C and reacts with water to form HF. [1]
- Abbreviation
- LiPF₆
Example
Electrolytes and separators: an example situation
Greater liquid uptake may improve wetting while changing mechanical behavior. Several properties define separator performance.
Read Lithium hexafluorophosphate alongside Aluminium foil in this context. The positive current collector, typically 10–15 µm thick. A thin passive film keeps it stable at the high potential of the positive electrode, where copper would corrode.
Use in Lemonergy
Connect transport with electronic isolation.
